As the pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Burnaby, let me welcome you to our web site.

Grace Lutheran Church is first and foremost a worshipping community. We gather 10:00 am on Sunday mornings to listen to God’s Word of Life spoken into our life through word and sacrament and there find that the presence of the Risen Christ is in our midst.

Grace Lutheran Church is a vibrant community with bible studies, Sunday School, seniors and youth programs. We schedule shared meals and recreational activities that enhance our life together.

Grace Lutheran Church is part of the wider Christian community. We are a member congregation of the British Columbia Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. Through the ELCIC we are part of the Lutheran World Federation. More importantly, we are part of the universal Christian church that bears witness to God’s grace shown in Jesus Christ.

Grace Lutheran Church is a place of learning. Educational Services have been an important part of Grace Lutheran Church’s ministry. For over 55 years Grace congregation has been providing educational services to the people of South Burnaby. We presently offer a pre-school program and a conversational English class for new immigrants.

Our pre-school offers early childhood education for children aged 21/2 to 5 years of age. We are excited about our pre-school program that prepares children to do well in kindergarten.

Grace Congregation is a congregation in mission for others. One program that reaches out into our community is our conversational English program. Responding to requests from new immigrants in our community we are helping them learn English so that they can do well as they transition into Canadian society. The Christian English Class is a supplement to a formal ESL program. We use lessons and bible stories which open conversation as the springboard for our lessons. We give English language learners an opportunity to practice English in a supportive environment.
